Stephen Mooney

Founder & Head Coach Hard Way Fitness

My health and fitness journey started in 2012, by that point I’d let it get very bad. Physically I was weak, regularly sick, unhappy and had some signs of early stage diabetes as well as undiagnosed pains and aches across my body.

My career suffered as a result and did so for many years. I didn’t have the energy or state of mind to deal with the rigors of corporate management.

There was no catalyst, or single solution for me back then. Instead it was a long haul journey of trial and error to get back to health and fitness. I tried and failed a lot and never managed to string together a consistent campaign against the habits that were holding me back.

It was in this struggle and constant stream of failures that the Hard Way Fitness, and the C-Suite Programme was born and given its Baptism of Fire. Hard Way Fitness began as a personal diary, a tool for self-accountability, with reminders, plans, photos and whatever I could think of to motivate me to exercise during the busiest days.

Over time, it transformed into something much bigger. It became a movement to empower others to rewrite their stories through fitness. From the corporate world and martial arts to military service, each step of my journey shaped the programme I stand behind today.

I have qualifications in personal training, functional screening, and strength and conditioning from Setanta College Ireland, alongside degrees in business and finance from University College Dublin, my journey has been and continues to be one of continuous growth. So can yours.
